Rhode Island Cottage

This is the kind of place I dream about escaping to with a pile of books about windswept widows and swarthy sea captains. It’s a historic cottage in Jamestown, Rhode Island, owned by my friend Julie, an artist with an obvious penchant for creating incredibly warm, charming, cozy places. Jamestown is located on Conanicut Island in Narraganset Bay, linked by bridge to Newport and Narragansett. The house is surrounded by beautiful rose gardens and the island boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world, in my opinion. With its separate bunkhouse, the property sleeps four, and it’s close to all the area attractions like Rhode Island’s famous beaches. But wouldn’t it be nice to simply stay put for a winter weekend and snuggle up inside this lovely abode? I’ve heard there’s still lots of availability in the coming months.
