Monthly Archives: March 2010

Sincere apologies for once again disappearing without a trace! I’m traveling back on the East Coast, visiting friends and family for a while before baby’s arrival in June. I’m also trying to get ahead of my work schedule, which has left me little time for personal blogging. These next few weeks might be sporadic, but I’ll post whenever I can. In the meantime, here’s a pic of me and my 7-month-pregnant belly.

My first *Green House Tour* went up on Apartment Therapy Re-Nest today! I had such a great time working on the project and am excited to get started on my next one. It was a joy to meet Bernee, Dado, and their adorable daughter Kezia. They are such a sweet family with a fabulous sense of style. Check out my feature “Bernee & Dado’s Cheery Oakland Hideaway” to get a glimpse inside their lovely home (Bernee’s studio – in a converted garage – is amazing!) See more of her art and design work at byleedesign.com.

This morning I couldn’t have my usual cup of Earl Grey Tea because I had to get this special blood test that pregnant women get to see if they have prenatal diabetes, and couldn’t drink anything but water. At the lab, I chugged this bottle of orange liquid – pretty tasty actually – then waited an hour before getting my blood drawn, all the while dreaming of going home and having a nice hot cup of tea. Oh, and since I’m pregnant, I’m actually not allowed to have more than one cup of tea per day because caffeine is bad for developing babies. So today, I’m paying tribute to tea. Here are a few memorable cups I’ve enjoyed in the past.

January 2009, a brasserie outside the Pompidou, Paris, France

August 2008, Oslo, Norway

December 2008, Felix Meritis Center, Amsterdam, Netherlands

January 2009, Cafe Flottenheimer, Copenhagen, Denmark

July 2008, Zebra Beach, Beaulieu sur Mer, France

Last weekend, this adorable Matryoshka doll mobile arrived in the mail from our dear friend Carly. So we were inspired to start putting together the nursery.

We got the Gulliver crib from IKEA, and a cute green chenille rug from Target (on sale for $10).

I think baby’s going to be pleasantly surprised when she meets her new boudoir this spring.

Last chance to see Madame Ingeborg Riesser’s delightful collection of tiny homes. The Paris Doll Museum’s exhibition “Doll Houses – The Art of the Miniature” ends Sunday! But if you can’t make it to the French capital by then, be sure to visit her shop Poupée Tendresse, at 9 rue Poussin, on your next trip to the City of Light.
