A jungle spa, carved into the Mexican hillside, surrounded by the splendor of the Valle de la Sierra Oriental Mountains. A remote retreat, overlooking the tranquil waters of Banderas Bay. This intimate hotel looks to me like perfection. How I’d love to wake up upon hand-embroidered pillows, beneath a snow white net, stroll across a woven rug, emerge into the open air of a private terrace, and listen to the crash of Pacific waves far below.

I’m thinking about taking a trip to the Greek Islands this spring, and I shouldn’t even be looking at this luxury resort on Crete’s northern coast, but it’s fun to dream…
Let me know if you have any recommendations on which islands we should visit. There are so many from which to choose.
I’ve never been to Africa, but I can easily imagine a weekend here, at the Ulusaba Private Game Reserve, surrounded by the tranquility of the South African bush. Guests stay at either the Rock Lodge (pictured), or the Safari Lodge where the rooms are built like tree houses and offer views of elephants and rhinoceroses on their way to the watering hole. Majestic.
